About a month or so ago I saw this on the Glasgow Theatre Royal's website it was just a title and dates. I thought it was one of the amateur operatic club versions which seem to crop up regularly. It seems however that it's a strictly limited British transfer of the award winning Broadway revival with a cast of 40 and a live orchestra of 25.

The Lincoln Center Theater production, which reinvented this classic musical, won 7 Tony Awards, sold out on Broadway for 2 years and is currently selling out across America, and later this year it plays a limited run in London and Glasgow - needless to say I've booked a ticket.
Set during World War II, South Pacific is the story of two couples, threatened by the realities of war. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949.
Considered one of the finest musicals ever written, and well known for its score which includes Some Enchanted Evening, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and There is Nothin’ Like a Dame.
